5. When will I receive the final mark sheet?

Complaint: When will I receive the final mark sheet?

Answer:

IGNOU issues the final mark sheet (Statement of Marks/Grade Card) only after a student has successfully completed all programme requirements (Assignments, Practicals, Projects, and Term-End Exams).

📌 Timeline for Receiving Final Mark Sheet

  1. Automatic Dispatch
    • IGNOU sends the final mark sheet by post to your registered address once your result is updated as “Completed.”
    • This usually takes 2–3 months after declaration of the final result.
  2. Regional Centre Collection (if delayed)
    • If you don’t receive it within 3 months, contact your Regional Centre (RC) with:
      • Enrollment number
      • ID proof
      • Grade card copy
  1. Duplicate Request (if lost/not received)
    • Write to the Registrar, Student Evaluation Division (SED), IGNOU HQ, New Delhi with a request form and fee for duplicate marksheet.

📌 Steps to Track/Resolve

  1. Check Grade Card
    👉 IGNOU Grade Card Portal
    • If status shows “Completed” → final mark sheet is automatically generated.
  2. Check Provisional Certificate (PC)
    • PC is normally issued before the final degree and often sent along with the final mark sheet.
  3. Contact RC / SED if delayed
    • Email: examresult@ignou.ac.in or registrarsrd@ignou.ac.in
    • Provide details: Name, Programme, Enrollment No., Completed Session.

📌 Important Notes

  • The final mark sheet is different from the provisional certificate and the degree.
  • Provisional Certificate (PC) → Sent soon after completion.
  • Final Mark Sheet → Shows subject-wise performance, sent by post.
  • Degree Certificate → Given only during Convocation.

👉 Quick Tip: Keep your address updated in IGNOU’s student portal to avoid postal delivery issues.
