📌 Steps to Apply for Duplicate Certificate

  1. Prepare Required Documents
    • Application for Duplicate Certificate (downloadable from IGNOU website or available at RC)
    • Affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper (Rs. 10/– or as per local rules) stating the certificate is lost/damaged
    • Original payment receipt / DD of the required fee (usually Rs. 300–500 per certificate)
    • Identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
    • Police FIR (if applicable, for lost certificate)
  2. Fill the Application Form
    • Mention details like:
      • Enrollment Number
      • Programme Name & Code
      • Year of Completion
      • Reason for duplicate request
  1. Pay the Fee
    • Fee can be paid via Demand Draft (DD) in favour of IGNOU payable at your RC city or via online payment if allowed by RC.
  2. Submit to Regional Centre (RC)
    • Submit the application along with documents to your current Regional Centre.
  3. Wait for Processing
    • RC will verify your documents and records, then request IGNOU HQ to issue the duplicate certificate.
    • It usually takes 4–6 weeks for processing and dispatch.
  4. Receive Certificate
    • The duplicate certificate will be sent to your registered postal address.

📌 Important Notes

  • Keep a copy of the application, payment receipt, and FIR/affidavit for future reference.
  • Duplicate certificates are marked “Duplicate” and are legally valid.
  • Do not attempt to forge or misuse certificates; IGNOU keeps a record of all duplicates issued.
  • Processing time may vary depending on RC and postal delivery.

👉 Tip: Always update your postal address in IGNOU portal before requesting a duplicate to avoid delivery issues.
