If your degree certificate / grade card / provisional certificate is lost, damaged, or not received, IGNOU allows you to apply for a duplicate certificate.
π Steps to Apply for Duplicate Certificate
- Prepare Required Documents
- Application for Duplicate Certificate (downloadable from IGNOU website or available at RC)
- Affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper (Rs. 10/β or as per local rules) stating the certificate is lost/damaged
- Original payment receipt / DD of the required fee (usually Rs. 300β500 per certificate)
- Identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
- Police FIR (if applicable, for lost certificate)
- Fill the Application Form
- Mention details like:
- Enrollment Number
- Programme Name & Code
- Year of Completion
- Reason for duplicate request
- Mention details like:
- Pay the Fee
- Fee can be paid via Demand Draft (DD) in favour of IGNOU payable at your RC city or via online payment if allowed by RC.
- Submit to Regional Centre (RC)
- Submit the application along with documents to your current Regional Centre.
- Wait for Processing
- RC will verify your documents and records, then request IGNOU HQ to issue the duplicate certificate.
- It usually takes 4β6 weeks for processing and dispatch.
- Receive Certificate
- The duplicate certificate will be sent to your registered postal address.
