4. My course is not available in current RC – what to do?

Complaint: My course is not available in current Regional Centre – what to do?

Answer:

If your chosen course is not offered at your current RC, you need to request a transfer to another Regional Centre (RC) or Study Centre (SC) that offers the course.

📌 Steps to Resolve

  1. Check Availability
    • Visit the IGNOU website or programme guide to find RCs/SCs offering your course.
  2. Request RC Transfer / Change of Study Centre
    • Write to your current RC requesting transfer.
    • Include: Name, Enrollment Number, Programme, Current RC/SC, Requested RC/SC, Reason.
  3. Attach Supporting Documents
    • Address proof, relocation proof, or any relevant certificates.
  4. Wait for Approval
    • Once approved, IGNOU updates:
      • Student portal
      • Assignments / Project submission details
      • Exam hall ticket
  1. Plan Your Academic Schedule
    • Transfer may slightly delay your assignments or TEE registration, so adjust accordingly.

📌 Important Notes

  • Course transfer is case-by-case and requires RC approval.
  • Always confirm seat availability at the new RC/SC before requesting transfer.
  • Keep a written approval / email from RC for reference.

👉 Tip: If your programme is rare or specialized, request the transfer well before assignment submission or exam registration to avoid delays.
