03. Assignment

6. “Not Found” status showing

Complaint: I submitted but status shows “Not Found”.

Answer:

This is a common IGNOU issue and usually happens because assignment marks/status take time to be updated in the system.

📌 Why it Happens?

  1. Delay in Data Entry → Regional Centre/Study Centre uploads marks in bulk, so the portal may show “Not Found” for weeks.
  2. Session Mismatch → You may be checking status under the wrong session/year.
  3. Marks Uploaded but Not Synced → Sometimes, marks are available in Grade Card but not in Assignment Status portal.

📌 Steps to Check & Resolve:

  1. Check Assignment Status Online
    👉 Assignment Status Link
    • Enter Enrollment Number + Program Code.
    • Ensure you select the correct session (e.g., July 2023 or Jan 2024).
  2. Cross-Check Grade Card
    👉 Grade Card Link
    • Sometimes marks reflect here first.
  3. Keep Proof of Submission
    • If submitted offline → keep stamped receipt copy.
    • If submitted online → keep email acknowledgement / Google Form receipt.
  4. If Still “Not Found” After 45–60 Days
    • Contact your Study Centre / Regional Centre with proof.
    • Email assignments@ignou.ac.in (IGNOU Student Evaluation Division).
    • Mention: Enrollment No., Program Code, Course Code, Session, Study Centre Code, Proof of Submission (scan copy).

📌 Important Notes:

  • “Not Found” does not mean your assignment is lost—it just means not yet updated.
  • As long as you have submission proof, your marks are safe.
  • IGNOU often updates marks in bulk just before TEE results.

👉 Quick Tip: Always track both portals (Assignment Status + Grade Card). Many students see updates directly in the Grade Card, even if Assignment Status keeps showing “Not Found”.
