Exam Day Guidelines for IGNOU Students: A Complete Checklist
Term-End Examinations (TEE) at IGNOU are the most important part of academic evaluation. Held twice a year — June and December — these exams require proper preparation, but also strict adherence to rules and protocols on the exam day.
Whether you’re a first-time student or have attempted exams before, these Exam Day Guidelines will ensure a smooth, stress-free experience and help you avoid mistakes that may affect your performance or result.
🗓️ Before the Exam Day
1. Download & Print Your Hall Ticket
- Hall tickets (admit cards) are usually released 7–10 days before the exam.
- Download it from:

- Digital copies on mobile are not accepted at most centres.
2. Check Exam Centre Details
- Location, address, and centre code are on your hall ticket.
- Visit the centre 1 day before the exam to avoid confusion or delays.
- Contact your Regional Centre for changes (if any) in the allotted centre.
3. Verify Subjects & Date Sheet
- Match your subjects with the official date sheet.
- IGNOU exam dates are subject-wise and may vary for different programs.

🕗 Reporting Time & Entry Rules

- Seating is done roll number-wise or subject-wise — check seating chart on display.

1. Follow Seating Instructions
- Sit in the seat assigned to your subject/paper code.

2. Filling the Answer Sheet
- Fill Enrollment Number, Program Code, Course Code properly.
- Don’t forget to sign the attendance sheet.

3. Duration & Time Management
