Yes, you can request a change of your Study Centre or Regional Centre after admission is confirmed, but only under specific conditions and through a proper procedure.
👉 Steps to Change Study Centre or Regional Centre:
🔁 To Change Study Centre:
- Login to your IGNOU Student Dashboard

Go to Service Request → Select “Change of Study Centre”. - Check Availability:
The new study centre must offer your course/program. Not all centres support all programs. - Submit Request Online:
If the option is enabled, fill out the request form and submit. Else, follow the offline process below. - Offline Method (If online not working):
- Write an application addressed to your current Regional Director.
- Mention:
- Name
- Enrollment Number
- Program
- Current Study Centre Code
- Desired Study Centre Code (New)
- Reason for change
- Attach ID card and proof of residence (if asked).
- Submit by email or visit your Regional Centre.
🔁 To Change Regional Centre (RC):
- Only Possible if You Have Shifted to Another State/District
Valid reasons include job transfer, relocation, etc. - Write an Application to Current RC
- Attach proof of relocation (e.g., rent agreement, transfer letter, Aadhaar update).
- Mention your current RC, new preferred RC, and reason.
- Approval Takes Time
It depends on course availability and decision of both RCs.

- First-Year students may not get RC/SC change before confirmation of admission.
